WARNING: Attached to platform at least 3/8 in. thick. Mounting hole must not exceed ball threaded shank diameter by more than 1/16 in. Threaded shank must protrude beyond bottom of nut when tightened. lf it does not, ball shank is too short for the application and loss of attachment may occur. Never install a ball without a lock washer positioned between ball platform and nut. With a socket and torque wrench tighten the nut to the proper as follows: 3/4 in. diameter thread:180ft-lbs..1 in. diameter thread: 240ft-lbs.,1-1/4 in. diameter thread: 360 ft-lbs. Failure to tighten as specified can result in ball failure or loss of attachment. Do not tow unless ball is tightened as specified. Never exceed the load rating of the ball or load rating stamped on the trailer hitch ball platform. Use only with coupler stamped for use with a ball of this diameter. At each trailer hook up check to make sure the coupler rotates freely on the ball and does not bind which could cause the ball to unscrew. Never attach a tow rope, chain, cable or stretch-type elastic rope to the trailer ball. Do not fasten safety chain or other attachments to the ball shank. Lubricate ball and coupler to minimize wear .Replace any damaged or worn parts (except finish).
